With unemployment rates for people with disabilities significantly higher than the general population, the Institute of Accessible Technology (IAT) is breaking barriers through targeted entrepreneurship and skills training programs. We empower individuals—especially those who are visually impaired or blind—with the practical skills, confidence, and mentorship needed to start and grow successful businesses.
Our expert trainers provide hands-on guidance to help participants develop expertise in areas such as:
- Detergents and Soap Production (liquid soap, shower gel, fabric softener, afterwash)
- Pastries (cakes, pies, and other baked goods)
- Dairy products (ice cream, yogurt, fan milk, etc.)
- Local beverages (e.g., Sobolo, millet drink)
Beyond these specialized skills, our programs also equip participants with essential business skills, including:
- Developing a viable business plan
- Launching and scaling a business
- Marketing, finance, and leadership skills
