The Institute of Accessible Technology (IAT) is a fully virtual academy dedicated to empowering persons with disabilities—especially individuals who are blind or visually impaired—through accessible technology and computer training.
Our goal is to remove barriers to digital education and transform technology into a powerful tool for confidence, skill development, and independence.
Through our 100% virtual learning model, we deliver expert-led, accessible, and affordable technology training directly to learners wherever they are.

Who We Are
IAT is a mission-driven team made up largely of blind and low-vision professionals from Ghana, including Special Educators, Assistive Technology Trainers, Computer Science Professionals, and Accessibility Advocates.
We operate under the slogan “Unlocking Possibilities Through Inclusion and Accessibility.”
Because all of our team members have lived experience with visual impairment, we bring a deep understanding of the challenges learners face—and practical, effective solutions that truly work.
Our foremost priority is to empower persons with blindness or visual impairment through accessible digital skills and technology.
What We Offer
IAT offers a diverse catalogue of twenty-seven (27) certified, fully accessible courses, including but not limited to:
- Basic and Advanced Word Processing with Microsoft Word
- Basic and Advanced Excel for Data and Spreadsheet Management
- Mastering Presentation with Microsoft PowerPoint
- Website Development with WordPress
- Data Analysis and Visualization with Microsoft Excel
- Database Management with SQL
- Data Analytics with Python
- Python Programming
- Enhancing Teaching with Technology for Blind Teachers
- Mastering Audio Production and Editing
- Front-End Web Development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Each course is designed to meet learners at their current skill level and support growth in confidence, competence, and independence.
