Course Objectives

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  1. Efficiently navigate and manage digital files and folders using keyboard shortcuts and screen readers to organize teaching materials.
  2. Create, format, and edit accessible documents in Microsoft Word, including applying styles and inserting alt text for images.
  3. Build and manage spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel for tracking student data using formulas, sorting, and filtering features.
  4. Design and deliver accessible presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint, incorporating slide notes, images, and multimedia following accessibility guidelines.
  5. Navigate web browsers and effectively search, download, and evaluate online teaching resources for classroom use.
  6. Manage email communication and scheduling tasks using Outlook or Gmail with screen reader support.
  7. Utilize AI-powered assistive tools to enhance lesson planning, content creation, and accessibility in teaching.
  8. Set up and troubleshoot projector connections and display settings for inclusive classroom presentations using screen readers.
